Harvey Mackay – Business Aphorisms
I recently saw Harvey Mackay speak, Harvey wrote the infamous Swim with the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive and is a living legend in sales and business influencers. I thought I would share with you a list of aphorisms he rhymed off during his talk. He is a self described “aphorism junkie.” Several of these you’ll want to post on your bulletin board.
· You can’t negotiate unless you know the market
· Have the ability to walk away from the deal
· It’s not how much it’s worth, its how much they think its worth
· He choked to death on his own pride
· Work hard AND work smart
· Cream works its way to the top
· Ear Q not IQ… You win more with your ears than your mouth (you don’t learn when your talking)
· Dig a well before your thirsty
· Find a creative way to keep in touch
There were at least half a dozen more that I couldn’t write down fast enough, but these are good ones. If you are looking for aphorisms, they can be nice reminders; I found a site that has a bunch Aphorisms Galore.
